Brampton Manor Barn, Old Hall Road - Chesterfield

Late C16/early C17 barn with massive cruck trusses under a stone and slate roof. Multiple slate failures allowing water to penetrate and significant cracking (historic) to gable elevation. Lower section of rear wall damp, no doubt due to adjacent land at a higher level and C20 render/pebbledash application. In 2015 Historic England awarded a project development grant to inform repair needs and possible future uses. The owner did not progress the project and the grant has been cancelled.
