Granada Cinema, 186 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 - Waltham Forest

The cinema was built 1929-30 as the Granada Cinema to the design of Cecil Masey with fine Art Deco and Moorish style interiors by Theodore Komisarjevsky. The Local Authority has purchased the building and is restoring and redeveloping it as a cultural venue, in partnership with Soho Theatre. Enabling works have commenced on site and Historic England has awarded a grant towards repair and restoration of the Hoe Street elevation, and is considering further grant aid towards restoration of internal features. The project is due to complete and the venue to open to the public in 2022.
