Ice house to Old Palace, Stockwell Close, Bromley Palace Park - Bromley

Ice house to Bromley Old Palace. Probably dating from the late C18, and remodelled in the early C19 as a garden shelter. It was possibly used as a stopping-off point when guests at the Old Palace were taken for a perambulation of the grounds. Considerable repairs have been undertaken, along with vegetation clearance, but further substantial works are required to the roof above the chamber itself. Historic England, the Local Authority, and Friends of Bromley Town Parks & Gardens are in early discussions to develop a suitable project to secure the necessary conservation works.
