Tomb of Joseph Westwood, Southern Grove, Tower Hamlets Cemetery E3 - Tower Hamlets

A prominent funerary tomb dating from 1883, in the form of a Decorated style wayside cross. It is in poor condition due to general decay and the loss of parts of its low railings, tiles, finials and other detailing. The Local Authority commissioned a monument safety survey in 2019. The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, who manage the site on behalf of the Local Authority, are working on a Conservation Management Plan, with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This will identify the conservation work and policies for its future upkeep and is due to be completed by summer 2022.
