Guildhall and police station, Abbey Place, Guildhall Square, Tavistock - West Devon

Completed 1848, incorporating medieval fabric in part. Use as court ended 1997 and police station has relocated. The first known example of a combined police station and magistrates' court. Roof in poor condition and fabric in general urgently needs attention. Tavistock Heritage Trust is working with the Town Council owners, who have been awarded a second National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to turn the building into a Mining Landscape WHS Interpretation Information Centre. The volunteers' work progressed well but paused due to Covid 19.
