Church of St Mary, Church Lane, Tunstead - North Norfolk
Parish church. C14 and later. Flint and stone; lead and copper roofs. West tower, nave, south porch, north and south aisle, chancel. Embattled C14 4- stage tower; Church was largely complete prior to Black Death and work recommenced in 1371 in Perpendicular style. Complete with fifteenth century rood screen. The church is suffering from excess dampness caused by faulty drainage systems; there are structural cracks in west face of tower at high level. Detaching plaster internally and medieval rood screen potentially at risk due to excess dampness.
