Local authorities can creat LNRs. This can be a sitethat is locally important for wildlife, geology education and enjoyment (without disturbing wildlife)LNRs must be controlled by the local authority through ownership, lease or agreement with the owner. They are places with wildlife or geological features that are of special interest locally.
