Past Emergency Funds Helping Heritage During COVID-19
Historic England has been working with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the National Lottery Heritage Fund to deliver funds where they are most needed across the heritage sector.
On Friday 11 December 2020, Historic England joined DCMS in marking over £1 billion spent on supporting the cultural and heritage sectors since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Past Emergency Funds
Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage (Round 1)
The fund helped heritage organisations or businesses cover operating costs, assess and adapt their business models, and become financially viable.
Grants for Programmes of Major Works
This fund (around £34 million) supported programmes of repair and restoration works (not new works) at nationally important heritage attractions
Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund
Historic England’s Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund was set up to extend a safety net to small heritage organisations at this challenging time
COVID-19 Heritage at Risk Fund
Around £11 million of additional grants has been offered to those eligible who applied to our earlier COVID-19 Emergency Heritage at Risk Fund.
