Support Our Archives

We hold major collections of national importance, covering archaeology, architecture, social and local history. Our collections include photographs, drawings, plans and documents, and we currently have over one million records that can be searched online.

Each year some 1.3 million people access our collections online or in Swindon and there is a growing demand to digitise our collection.

We hold more than 9 million images of England including many important, sensitive collections which urgently need care and digitisation to make them truly accessible and available to all.

How you can help

Funding support for the posts to do this work would allow us to unlock these important resources for wider public use, enjoyment and education.

Together, we can look after England's past and future
