Kingston Museum and Kingston History Centre

Both Kingston Museum and History Centre will be using their collections and local archival information to bring an awareness to not only the suffrage movement, but also the suffrage movement in Kingston upon Thames.

Kingston History Centre will be hosting a display on the important and changing role women have played in local government in Kingston. The display draws on original interviews with former councillors whose thought and experiences provide a unique insight in to the topic. 

Kingston Museum will be complementing this display with their own exhibition on women in the war effort, women obtaining the vote and Kingston suffragettes.  

Kingston Museum will also be holding a fun and crafty ‘Thumb’s Up’ event for children, where they can get into the spirit and learn more about courage by creating rosettes, sashes and banners – all for free!
