'RRS Discovery' moored off Victoria Embankment and viewed head-on. The ship was built specifically for Captain Scott's Antartic expedition of 1901-4. She has since been a training ship and a recruitment centre and is now in St Katharine's Dock.

Description

The ship was built specifically for Captain Scott's Antartic expedition of 1901-4. At the time the photograph was taken it was used as a training ship and recruitment centre. In 1986, the ship returned to its home port of Dundee and became a museum.
