Description

The palace was built for Archbishop Walter de Grey in the 13th century, with alterations made throughout the 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The hall has a vaulted ceiling, painted walls and blind arcades with niches and elaborate plasterwork. The vaulted ceiling has a foliage boss.
