Description

The house is now part of Bootham School, which neared completion in 1804. It was designed by Peter Atkinson for Sir Richard Vanden Bempde Johnstone. The entrance hall has a stone staircase flanked by fluted columns. There are two round-headed niches on the first landing with a tall window between them.
