Description

The hall was designed by Sir Charles Barry and E.M. Barry and was opened in 1863. The plan is rectangular, and has a south-west tower with three stages and a balustrade broken at each corner with short domed cupola. The square-based spire has clock faces on all sides and three stages. At the top is an iron balcony with balustrade and weathervane.
