The hall was designed by Sir Charles Barry and E.M. Barry and was opened in 1863. Victoria Hall is a double height space with a gallery on all sides and a glazed ceiling. The centre of the ceiling has twelve square panels with foliage designs and a domed window, while the outer windows forma curve to the hall ceiling height.
