Description

The misericords in Worcester Cathedral date from 1379, with several modern additions. The misericords represent biblical scenes, nine Labours of the Months, and scenes of everyday life. This detailed misericord, in the 28th stall on the north side, depicts the Judgement of Solomon. Three figures are seated beneath an intricately carved canopy. On the left stands a woman holding a small child in a shroud, and on the right a woman holds a child who has being taken from her by one of the seated figures.
