Description

The six panels of the carved altarpiece show the Assumption of the Virgin, the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Betrayal, the Sourging of Christ, and the Entombment. It was buried in order to protect it during the Reformation, and is said to have been rediscovered in a vault in 1814.
