Description

The circular font dates from around 1180, and is the reason the church is a Grade I listed building. The eight Virtues and Vices are depicted standing beneath trefoiled arches in blind arcading. The Virtues carry weapons whilst the Vices are under the feet of the Virtues. In the central arch shown in this photograph is Temperencia overcoming Luxuria at her feet. On the left of this is Modestia overcoming Ebretias, and on the right is Paciencia overcoming Ira.
