Detail of a Norman font which has been extensively restored, with only the original top remaining. The bowl has a zig-zag pattern with different layers of the pattern up the full height of the bowl. The shaft is nearly the same width as the bottom of the bowl and sits on a round base which has four carved round leaves that align with the corners of the square plinth underneath. The plinth extends towards the photographer, creating an aisle to walk towards the font on.
