Description

Detail of a 14th century coffin lid displayed on the south wall inside the church. The lid is decorated with relief busts of an unidentified man and woman with a trefoil head over each of them. They are separated by the top section of a crucifix, which travels down to the base of the lid, and the arms of the cross spread out to each side of the lid underneath the busts. A carving of Christ is on the cross, and the cross itself is decorated. The church is Norman in origin.
