Description

The photographer’s notes state: ‘Demerara House in the left centre, with no 2 Quay Street adjoining it at the back on the right. Quay Street on the right. St John the Baptist's in the distance. From Colston Avenue.'

Noted in red: ‘On the following Tuesday the 10th (or probably Monday the 9th) the demolition of Demerara House, including its left and later part, and No 2 Quay Street was started in connection with the widening of Rupert Street. The figure was removed on the 10th.'
