Description

The photographer’s notes state: ‘Welsh Back, looking north up the Floating Harbour to Bristol Bridge.

Left to right: All Saints' Church, Christ Church's, St Nicholas's Church, and St Mary-le-Port's Church steeples from the centre background. Just below All Saints' can be seen Nos 24 % 23 (Golden Bottle). The houses, going to the right from St Nicholas's, form Bridge Street.'

Noted in red: ‘ Nearly all the Bridge Street houses were more or less destroyed in the 24.Nov.1940, and later air raids, and only two houses on the Floating Harbour side were left after neccessary demolitions had taken place.'
