Description

The photographer’s notes state: ‘Redcliff Street, west side. No. 91 (nearer) and 92. Then come Nos. 93 & 94 (low houses), and then Nos. 95, 96 & 97 (the last being against the high modern building No. 98 at the corner of Ferry Street). No. 97 is Canynges' House. No. 96, formerly part of Canynges' House, has a very narrow front. No. 98 had old vestiges in its basement of Canynges' House.'

Noted in red: ‘Nos. 96 & 97 were demolished at the end of 1937. No. 98 was destroyed in an air raid before June 1941. Nos. 91 & 92 had their top story gutted at the same time, and it was removed before August 1949.'
