The photographer’s notes state: ‘Nos. 21 & 22 (nearer) Temple Street. east side. NO. 22 is next to Spicers Ltd, Paper maker on right. No. 21 is one house from the corner of Bear Lane.'
Noted in red: 'The delightful cornice to both houses, likewise the window keystones, the string course and the quoins had all gone at the beginning of October 1936. The same had happened to the central pediment of No. 21. Both houses were destroyed in the air raid of Nov. 24. 1940.'
