Description

The Kit Cat Club was located in the basement of the Capitol Cinema at 50 Haymarket and was one of the most famous London nightclubs in the 1920s. After being closed down in December 1926, it was reopened in October of the following year under the new name, the Kit Cat Restaurant. The restaurant closed for a second time in 1931, this time due to financial pressures, but reopened again two months later, under new management.

In 1935 the Capitol Cinema was redeveloped and it took over the premises of the club.
