The photographer's notes state: 'Copy. Looking north up the High Street. Effingham Lodge garden wall on extreme left. Entrance to this house behind the people on the left. Spring Hall seen at the end of the road in the distance. The south lodge of The Rookery in right centre. End of the Cray Cottages on extreme right. (Enlarged copy of a small photo taken by the late Mr. William Mansfield in 1890)'.
