The south-east front of the house is the oldest part of the building and the two angled projecting towers, known as 'bastions', which are visible in this image date from the mid-18th century.
The photographer's notes state: 'The old southerly part of the east front'.
Sidcup Place was in use as a school from 1907 until 1933 when it was purchased by the Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District Council to act as their headquarters. It was later used by the London Borough of Bexley.
