The photographer's notes state: 'View in field, looking east. Ice well on extreme left. Frognal Cottage on extreme right. This field bounded by Frognal Avenue on the S.west'.

This field was located on the north side of Frognal House. It is now the site of the Queen Mary's Hospital.
