The photographer's notes state: 'The house. The old part. At the top of the original staircase. Looking eastwards into the long east attic room from the doorway of the west attic room'.
Twysdens was demolished in stages between 1940 and 1948 and the area which the house occupied, on the south-east side of Cray Road, is now the site of a Coca-Cola factory.
