The photographer's notes state: 'Nos 1 (furthest), 2 & 3 Chapman's Cottages, south side Chapman's Lane. Looking towards the Cray Road'.

2 Chapman Lane (the middle cottage) is a 17th century timber framed building with a brick facing, whereas number 1 is a later 19th century addition.
