The photographer's notes state: 'The upper part of the great central principal of the Great Hall. Showing underside. Two fragments of the arch below. These fragments framed the top of the arch (south side). (See Nos 852 & 853). Dovetail tenon at either end. East face above the underside. (Enlarged from the original negative)'. [Nos 852 and 853 refers to BB71/09202 and BB71/09203]

There is also an additional note stating: 'In the rickyard at Poverest near St Mary Cray'.

The farmhouse at Manor Farm was located on the east side of the Orpington Bypass (now Cray Avenue), just to the south of the railway line. It was demolished between January and February 1936.
