The photographer's notes state: 'Looking S.W. across the little north lawn to the pool. N. side of the house on left. Overhanging labernum on the right in the foreground. The great ash tree on the left'.
Effingham Lodge was located on the west side of the High Street, opposite the Rookery and to the south of Spring Hall. It was demolished some time after the Second World War.
