Description

This is a photograph of an older photographic image. It is believed that the image was photographed by PEW Street c1929-1950.

The photographer's notes state: 'Copy. Dorpentune House (No 142) on left. West side High Street. Beyond the first three gables is the old block Nos 118, 116 & 114. Beyond it in the distance is the south side of Aynscomb House. (From a photographic postcard view probably taken late 1929)'.

There is an additional note stating: 'Dorpentune House was demolished in the autumn 1936'.

The lower right corner of the postcard is marked 'Baxter Series' which may refer to the publisher but this has not been confirmed.
