Description

The Worth Park estate was purchased by Sir Joseph Montefiore in 1850. The house and gardens were remodelled by his son Francis Abraham Montefiore following Sir Joseph's death in 1880. The estate was broken up and sold in 1915, following which it became a boarding school known as Milton Mount College. The house and gardens were purchased by the council in 1963 and in circa 1967 the house was demolished and the grounds became a public park.
