The SS Alsatian was an Atlantic liner built by William Beardmore and Company Limited in 1912 for Allan Line. After launch and fitting out she undertook her maiden voyage to Canada in 1914, serving as an armed merchant cruiser during the First World War. This photograph was commissioned by Berndorf Metal Works, presumably the manufacturers of the galley fixtures and fittings.
