These early 20th century works and offices were designed by architect William Courtenay Le Maitre. C A Vandervell & Co Ltd who occupied the buildings were electrical engineers, manufacturers of dynamo lighting equipment for motor cars and manufacturers of magnetos and electrical accessories.
