The baldacchino in Westminster Cathedral was designed by cathedral architect John Francis Bentley (1839-1902). The foundation stone of the cathedral was laid in 1895.

Description

This photograph was commissioned by Monsignor M E Carton de Wiart. In 1914 he organized one of the first nursing parties to go into France, for which he received the Order of the British Empire.
