Description

The original register identifies the site as 'Bradford Spare lands and shops'.

According to the Bradford Post Office Directory of 1898, William Spafford was a wheelright based at 354 Thornton Road, west of Whetley Mill. Additionally, at number 356 was a bootmaker named Thomas Brown and at 358 was S. Sutcliffe who was a furniture broker.
