Park Hill was Britain's first complete post-war slum clearance, and is considered to be the most ambitious contemporary inner-city development. The flats were designed by Jack Lynn and Ivor Smith under J. L. Womersely for Sheffield Corporation City Architect's Department, and were built in 1957-1960.
