View of Hammersmith Bridge, a suspension bridge built in 1884-7, by Sir Joseph Bazalgette for the Metropolitan Board of Works. The bridge replaced an earlier one built in 1824-7 by William Tierney Clark, a pupil of Thomas Telford.
