Description

Multiple conjectural reconstruction illustrations are created largely where the archaeological evidence is ambiguous or absent, and are also sometimes used to explore theories about the potential appearance of a structure or object. In this case, the plan of the turret is known and the lower courses of stonework have been evident, but the appearance of the roof of the turret is unknown. See illustration IC048/021 for the other conjectural reconstruction of the turret.

A note on the sheet reads 'Grindon T34a, 63', and may refer to the locations/ publications where this illustration was to be reproduced.
