PELTON FRONT STREET NZ 25 SE (North side) 4/55 No. 32 (Wheldon House) GV II
House. Dated 17 ? (said to have been 1726) on door lintel; mid C19 additions.
Dressed and squared stone, Welsh slate roof and brick chimney stacks.
2 storeys, 3 windows,of 2 builds; section of straight joint to left of door.
Flush quoins. Off-centre replaced door in chamfered stone surround under gabled wood hood; lintel inscribed: 17 A (remainder illegible). C20 glazed door at far left. Replaced 12-pane sashes with projecting sills; on ground floor with C20 louvred shutters. Steeply-pitched roof has coped gables, shaped kneelers and C20 gabled dormer. Left end and ridge stacks with moulded stone bands; rebuilt right end stack.
2-storey, 2-bay C19 wing on left rear.
