LONG SUTTON CP ONE MEAD LIKE (North side) ST42NW KNOLE 6/195 Thatchover 17.4.59 GV II

Detached cottage, C17 origins. Local lias stone, rendered and colourwashed; thatched roof with coped north gable; rendered chimney stacks with ornate C19 white fire clay pots. Single storey with attics, 3 bays. Casement windows of uncertain date with diamond, leaded panes, 3-light below and 2-light above, the latter set into the thatch; between bays 1 and 2 part-glazed door with C20 timber, glazed and thatched porch. C20 additions to rear. Interior not seen, but reported is a massive fireplace with moulded cambered-arched beam, with oven and spice cupboard; a stone newel stair, several chamfered beams (VAG Report, SRO Unpublished, 1973).
