LANGPORT CP THE HILL (North side) ST4226 11/111 The Pump, and railings enclosing former Pound - GV II
Pump and pound. C19. Cast ironwork, rendered brick base to walls with stone copings. Pound enclosure has walls about 900 mm average height, surmounted by 900 mm high railing with twisted points, and anthemion cast finials to curve-braced standards. On east side of enclosure, set in recess, the pump, now encased in corrugated iron with rounded roof, and only large cast iron spout and the handle, for a circular motion, are exposed: in front a plain cast-iron trough.
