EGLINGHAM EGLINGHAM VILLAGE NU 1019 (South side) 19/168 Gate piers, gate and attached walls at entrance to Eglingham Hall GV II

Gate piers, gate and attached wall. Piers and wall C18, gates probably early C19. Piers tooled-and-margined stone, walls squared stone; gates wrought iron.

Piers with moulded caps carrying ball finials on pyramids, hold double gates with looped fleur-de-lys heads to bars, foliate top rail and foliate cross motif below. Attached walls with chamfered coping, bowed forward to left of gate.
