Lawrence

GV II

Chest tomb. Dated 1706 and 1728. Limestone with moulded plinth and ledger, the sides and ends carved with Ionic-style pilasters and stylised foliage. An inscription to south reads: 'Here lyeth Interred/The Body of M Edward/Lambert he Departed/This Life July ye ? 1706'. A further inscription to west reads: 'Also Here Lyeth/The Body of Elizabeth/The Wife of M. Edward/Lambert She Departed/This Life October ye 14/1728 aged 77'.
