BICKINGTON BICKINGTON SX 77 SE 7/19 Cap of chest tomb in St Mary's - Churchyard, reused as outer step to priest's door GV II

Moulded cap of chest tomb. Late C17. Granite. Carved inscription: "Here lyeth the body of Thomas Hext who was buried ye 28th day of June ano ... 1671" (small piece cut out of centre of stone and filled with cement). Inscription also commemorates his wife Joane, who died in 1696.
