1671 BROAD STREET (North Side) No 17 (Rising Sun Public House) TF 0307 1/51 II GV 2.

Late C16 Or early C17. 2 storeys and attics in painted stone. Stone slate roof with 3 gabled dormers. One window on 1st floor, double-hung sash with glazing bars. 2 windows on ground floor, double-hung sashes with glazing bars, irregularly placed. One window to right, set lower in altered (bricked) reveal. Thin wood lintels. 6-panel door with glazed rectangular fanlight. Wrought iron sign bracket.

The Roman Catholic Church of St Augustine, School, Wall and gate piers to Church with Nos 14, 15 and Nos 17 to 22 (consec) form a group.
