ST3108 HIGH STREET 756-1/3/90 (North side) 29/07/76 No.16 Priory Green Residential Home (Formerly Listed as: HIGH STREET (North side) No.16 Tudor House)
House. Probably mid C18, refronted in mid C19. Painted roughcast, probably over limestone rubble, with painted stone dressings and cornice; gabled slate roof; brick end stacks. Double-depth plan with central hall. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. C19 painted pedimented doorcase with pilasters; C19 door, once 6 panels, now altered to 4, the top 2 glazed, with overlight. To the left, a late C19 two-storey, 3-light canted bay with 2/2-pane sashes and cornice reaching to, but not combining with, original cornice which supports a gutter. To the right, 8/8-pane sashes; moulded pediments to all windows including the 2 full dormers. Ground and first-floor pediments have shallow consoles. Fretted bargeboards to gable ends. INTERIOR: two C17 fireplaces inserted.
