House, c.1830-40. Rendered rubble with some brick and cob to rear. Slate roof with gable end stacks. Central staircase plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range of sashes, 2 panes over 2 panes with marginal glazing bars over 2 similar sashes to each side of short projecting porch with Ionic fluted columns and entablature. Panelled door of 2 tall panels with semi-circular heads and overlight with marginal glazing bars.

Round-arched stair-window to rear. Retirement home of Edward Capern, the postman- poet, whose gravestone is in Heanton Punchardon graveyard. (q.v. Heanton Punchardon).
